Well, for this week, we’re in the middle of a big storm with high winds and torrential rain. I think it’s fair to say you could probably read everything that’s in this column here, but I’m just going to give you a rundown of this week’s news.
We’ve got all kinds of events going on. First, a new law is about to go into effect that will make it a crime for anyone under the age of 18 to leave any unattended pets outdoors for more than two hours. Second, a state senator is going to propose a bill that would require you to wear a heart monitor and a GPS ankle bracelet at all times when you’re driving.
If you’re not a member of a political party, you may find that you’re one of the very few people who have a hard time keeping their voice down. The folks I’ve met in this story are all in their 30s, so it seems the idea of this news journal and its story are very popular.
The story goes on to describe the various ways that motorists are trying to keep their dogs from going outdoors, from wearing earplugs and a GPS monitor to putting a GPS tracking collar on them. Some people are going as far as to put the dogs on a loop as well. This last one is particularly weird, as if a dog has gotten outside for too long it will be very difficult to get them back inside again.
I can think of a few ways to take this issue to the next level, but the one I am most excited about is where we end up being able to keep our dog inside with us. I have to say that the idea that your dog could be out there on Death Loop for a year and a half is pretty ridiculous.
