Integrative medical care is about more than just medicine. It is about holistic healing, mind, body, and soul. This is the medical care that truly brings harmony to your life, so that you can live a life of wholeness.

One of the most important ways to restore harmony in the body is through diet. When we are out of balance with our body, we experience pain, illness, and disease. The best way to restore harmony is through the right diet, and I’m excited to share my own integrative medical diet with you in the next chapter.

The human body is a complex thing, and a person’s diet can have a positive or negative impact on the state of their body. For example, some people have an apple a day, and others smoke. When a person eats foods that are rich in nutrients, such as fruit and vegetables, they are more at peace with themselves, and are less likely to have digestive issues.

That’s a great example of how our diet can affect the way we feel and act. It’s also true that people with better diets can have healthier diets, and vice versa. For example, when I was 20 I had a terrible case of lactose intolerance. It was so bad that I couldn’t consume any dairy products except for my mother’s baking, and that was only because I was eating eggs and butter I couldn’t even remember the last time I had eaten them.

But it wasnt until later in life that I figured out my lactose intolerance was caused by the poor diet I was on. It was actually the first diet I ever developed that had my body produce enough lactase to digest dairy products, so I had a good diet for years, but my digestive problems still went untreated because the only food I ate was dairy products.

Yes, I definitely had a dairy allergy. I was born with the lactase gene that produces lactic acid in my digestive system and my milk and yogurt were the only foods I ate for years. In fact, when I was about twelve I started having severe abdominal pain and my doctor suspected that I may have a “lactose intolerance” so he referred me to a lactase enzyme specialist who I met at a medical conference.

I am so glad he did because the lactase enzyme I get from my milk and yogurt actually gives me more energy. We have a lot of the same genes.

The same principle applies for many of our digestive systems. We might all have the same genes for a digestive system, but that doesn’t mean that one person needs more or less digestive enzymes. In fact, a few researchers have found that a person’s digestive system reacts to the foods they eat differently depending on their genetics. So you can actually be lactose intolerant without knowing it.

The reason we all have different digestive systems is because we evolved with different digestive systems. The idea of digestive enzymes is a long way from reality, but there are a few theories that suggest that some people have more digestive enzymes than others. These enzymes have been found to cause different things in the body, and one of the biggest ones is known as the “mixture theory.” Essentially, it says that our digestive enzymes cause different diseases.

The digestive enzymes are definitely a part of the mix, but I’m not sure how many people actually have their own digestive enzymes. The notion is that we have a variety of digestive enzymes in our body, but we don’t know what they are. If you don’t know, you can always ask a doctor about a specific digestive enzyme.
