Communication takes on many forms, and each one requires a skill set that doesn’t exist in the other person. We have to communicate in a way that our partner understands, and we have to be able to communicate clearly.
Communication is all about getting the other person to understand your point of view, to understand what you want to communicate, and to be able to convey it in a way that is understandable to the other person. If this communication does not come through, then it is not communication.
This is not a good thing, because we have to have a big group of people in each stage of development of the game, and we have to be able to communicate and understand each other’s point of view. You could talk about what the player has done. Or you could talk about how you are trying to get more people to talk to you.
Communication in game development is much more common than we think. Some people focus on how you can communicate with a player, while others focus on how to get a player to talk to you. There is a big difference in how people deal with the communication of their players, though. Some people just hope that the player will get better. Others want to see the player do better, or at least give them the confidence that they can.
The first step to having a successful communication in game is to let the player in. Players often have the tendency to say, “I need a drink.” When players are told that they can’t drink, they get pissed off. They don’t like being told that they can’t drink. But the second step is to set up a game where the player can actually drink while being in a game and not have them throw up in the game.
You can think of it as taking the first step of communication and taking it a step further by telling players they can make a drink. The player wants to know that they can drink, but is told that they cant, and that they are making it look like they are drunk. It’s a subtle way of saying, “you can drink, or you can not.” It is also a way to break down the first step of communication.
