There has been a lot of discussion about whether or not it is safe to use shampoo as body wash. Shampoos work differently than soap, and can be drying on the skin.

Using it as body wash could temporarily make your hair smell better, but over time will cause more problems then you want to deal with. Some shampoos are specially formulated for the skin and hair.

If you have sensitive skin, it’s probably not a good idea to use shampoo as body wash. This isn’t just important when using it on your face or head; in fact, if you’re going through chemo therapy like I am (cancer), most physicians recommend that cancer patients avoid all products with SLS – Sodium Lauryl Sulfate  because they can irritate delicate tissue including the eyes and nasal passages.

The best thing to do is check what is inside of each product before choosing one for your needs! Below is an example list: *Conditioning Shampoo  *Lavender-scented Conditioner
