I can’t believe how many people are asking this question! The answer is YES, hamsters CAN eat bananas. But they don’t actually need to eat them because their diet typically consists of some sort of seed or grain-like food that humans would not normally consider edible. In fact, a lot of animals we keep as pets have the same diet and never see any type of fruit or vegetable. So, if you have a hamster and they are not eating their food on its own, don’t go out of your way to feed it bananas. They may eat them as an occasional treat but more than likely won’t need the extra calories from something like that. On the other hand, if your hamster is really hungry or seems lethargic for some reason (which could be caused by any number of things), feel free to offer them a banana slice with no worries! Lastly, please keep in mind that I am not a veterinarian so this article should NOT be used as medical advice. If you want answers about how much fruit or vegetables your pet needs specifically or what type would make sense given their age/species/
