If youre like me, you probably have a hard time wanting something you cant actually have. This is why the term “hunger” is a bit of a misnomer. In fact, the term “hunger” is used to describe the desire for physical pleasure.
For example, if you are trying to satisfy your hunger with ice cream, you are probably also trying to satisfy your thirst with ice cream.
Hunger as a metaphor for our subconscious, and a lot of spiritual traditions have used the idea of hunger to help us find our way to the higher realms. In the most basic form, hunger is the feeling of wanting something that we cant or will not otherwise have. That being said, we are, in reality, a whole lot more intelligent, stronger, and more capable when we exercise our mental side.
As it turns out, the desire to eat is the same desire that motivates us to go to the gym. So you can see how we’ve been working on this a lot more lately. This is because, according to neuroscience, our bodies are actually quite capable of being trained to achieve any goal we want if we take sufficient time and commitment.
