This is an online group where you can have a group chat with other members of your own medical field. The idea is to post questions, comment on the answers, and have a forum discussion. It’s not the same as a chat group in the real world, but it can be a fun way to engage with other professionals. You can find the group here.
There’s a lot of medical questions that are appropriate for the group, including everything from treating a pregnant woman who has anemia to discussing the difference between a cyst and a bladder tumor. There are also posts from members of the medical community who provide advice about what to do when you have a medical emergency.
I think I’ve seen an excelsior doc discuss some pretty serious life and death situations, but this is the first time I’ve seen anyone post their medical advice. I think you should post the relevant medical questions on this forum.
I would guess that a lot of these posts are written by medics who have dealt with cases of extreme emergency, like when a woman is about to give birth and needs to have an emergency C-section and the doctor can’t be found. One of the most commonly asked questions is “how many people have been in an accident due to medical negligence?”. The simple answer is that the answer is one, if you’re a doctor.
I think the doctor joke is funny because I remember being in a training class and a medic asked a question and the teacher was like “Well I guess you’d have to say that there are several thousand people who got hurt because of doctors.
The problem is there. Doctors make mistakes, just as the driver did. Mistakes happen. If there’s anything that should be common sense, it’s that medical errors are rare but serious. But there are a number of reasons why doctors make these mistakes such as not having enough training, not being aware of some of the symptoms and procedures, not being aware of the legal ramifications, or simply not being willing to risk that someone might die.
A patient of a doctor, even the one who is not a Doctor, should have a lot of trust in his doctor. The doctor should know his patient, be willing to make any mistakes, and not be aware of the legal ramifications of doing so. But the reason doctors make mistakes is because they can. Doctors are trained to think and act in an abstract and unrealistic manner.
I’m not saying that doctors don’t make mistakes. I’m saying that they make mistakes because of being trained to think and act in an abstract and unrealistic manner. That way they can’t see the real world which is the reason they make mistakes. The difference is a medical doctor is trained to think and act like a doctor.
There’s a whole bunch of legal jargon that doctors and lawyers don’t know about. If you’re a doctor or lawyer, I urge you to do a bit of research on the subject.
