So I am trying to figure out what kind of physician I want to be. I have been in the medical field for close to twenty years, and I feel like I have been doing it for far too long. I have a hard time figuring out what I want to do next, so I wanted to see if there was any advice I could give to others.

I think the answer is yes, you CAN do it. If you have been in the hospital for more than six months of your life, you are very likely to have been on a four-week rotation in a hospital. I don’t know what that means for you, but it’s a place where you can go and learn about the best way to take care of patients. It is a place where you can learn how to do everything else you need to do.

You can start by simply asking a few questions. You can ask how long you have been in the hospital for; how much you currently do for a job; what you have done to be able to do that job; what you are willing to do to get the job; and how much you want to get out of the job. These are simple, straightforward questions that will help you discover where you are in your career.

Most importantly, you can ask how you can take care of yourself. It is an opportunity to make a huge change and move forward with confidence knowing that you can take care of yourself no matter what your job is. You can take care of yourself by learning the tools you need to do it. Some of the best doctors come from a place of self-awareness.

I will confess that I sometimes fall into a bad habit of thinking that if I take care of myself, I will figure out how to take care of others. I take care of myself by exercising, eating healthfully, and making time for myself. I take care of others by listening to them, being a team player, and sharing my knowledge. I take care of myself by exercising daily and taking care of myself by talking to other people. Self-awareness is the foundation of successful caretaking.
