Program Introduction by ABA GP|Solo Section Public Service Committee Chair Laura Farber

This year the ABA GP|Solo Section has chosen tolerance education as our public service project, an issue that has become more critical than ever in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The teasing and bullying that takes place between children is frequently written off as "kids being kids." But too often this type of behavior leads to more severe harassment and violence. As chair of the ABA GP|Solo Section Public Service Committee I am calling on all lawyers to help put an end to this type of violence. The Section's "Tolerance Through Education" initiative is designed for lawyers to help strengthen the diversity that makes our democratic society thrive by promoting respect among children for those who look different, act different or share different beliefs. Please join us in this important project and help our children celebrate the differences that make each of us unique.
